Supporting Parents With E‑Safety: Keeping Children Safe Online
As a school, we know how quickly technology evolves. New apps, games, and online trends appear almost overnight, and it can be challenging for parents and grandparents to stay up to date with the latest online safety concerns. Keeping children safe online is a shared responsibility, and we want to ensure every family feels confident and informed.
To support our community, we have arranged a free e‑safety awareness session here at the school on Monday 9th February, 14:00 - 15:30. This session is designed specifically for parents and grandparents, offering practical guidance, up‑to‑date information, and simple strategies to help keep children safe while using technology both at home and in school.
👨👩👧👦 What to expect:
Clear, accessible advice on current online risks
Tips for setting boundaries and having conversations about online behaviour
Guidance on privacy, security, and age‑appropriate use
A chance to ask questions and build confidence in supporting your child

To celebrate excellent attendance during the Autumn Term, the winning class for our 'Class of the Term' will enjoy a special Movie Morning at school. This event is a reward for their commitment to attending regularly and for setting such a positive example to others.
Pupils in the winning class will have the chance to relax together, watch a film, and enjoy as recognition of their achievement. Attendance is a vital part of learning and progress, and this celebration highlights the importance of being in school every day.

We are delighted to welcome our new part-time Nursery pupils to Trelewis Primary School today. This marks the beginning of their exciting learning journey with us, as they settle into school life and start to explore, play, and learn together.
Starting Nursery is a special milestone, and our staff are committed to ensuring that each child feels safe, happy, and supported as they adjust to new routines. Pupils will be encouraged to develop their early social skills, build confidence, and begin their foundations in literacy and numeracy through play‑based activities.
We look forward to seeing our youngest learners grow, thrive, and become part of the wider school community. A very warm welcome to all our new families joining us this term!

Today we are celebrating No Outsiders Day, with a special focus on the theme of relationships. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to promoting inclusion, respect, and understanding within our school community.
Throughout the day, pupils will take part in activities and discussions that explore:
The importance of building positive relationships with friends, family, and peers.
How kindness, empathy, and respect help us to connect with others.
Ways to celebrate differences and ensure that everyone feels valued and included.
By engaging with this theme, children will develop a deeper understanding of how relationships shape our lives and how we can all contribute to a school environment where no one feels like an outsider.

We are delighted to announce a new partnership between Trelewis Primary School and the NHS, launching Health Drop‑In sessions at school. These sessions will provide parents with direct access to health visitors, school nurses, and play therapists, who will be available on site during drop‑off times.
The Health Drop‑Ins are designed to:
Offer practical advice on supporting children’s development and wellbeing.
Provide guidance on a wide range of health‑related issues.
Create opportunities for parents to ask questions and seek professional support in a friendly, accessible setting.
The focus of this session is keeping your child healthy and fit for school, with an opportunity for you to raise individual queries or questions after the information has been given.
This initiative reflects our commitment to working closely with families and professionals to ensure every child has the best possible start in life. By hosting these sessions in school, we aim to make expert advice more convenient and approachable for parents, strengthening the link between home, school, and health services.
We look forward to welcoming families to these sessions and believe they will be an invaluable resource for our community.

Possible School Closure – Important Notice
With heavy snow forecast overnight, there is a possibility that school may need to close tomorrow. We ask all families to make alternative arrangements for childcare in case a closure becomes necessary.
We will assess conditions early in the morning and inform parents as soon as a decision is made.
Thank you for your understanding and for planning ahead during the uncertain weather.
