Our JRSOs delivered an assembly highlighting the importance of not using a mobile phone while driving. They gave a detailed and informative presentation, and we hope the important message will be shared with all parents and carers by the children who listened. Fantastic work by our JRSOs!

Kerbcraft Certificates

The children in Dosbarth Melyn visited our local community to practise being safe pedestrians. They learned how to choose safe places to cross the road, cross carefully near parked cars, and cross safely at junctions. Trelewis Primary School - Parental Survey 2026

We really value your thoughts and feedback about our school! To help us continue improving, we’d love to hear from you about what’s working well and where we can do better.

Please find attached a link to a short survey, which is designed for parents and carers to share their views on how pupils are experiencing school. The more feedback we receive, the more we can make positive changes that benefit everyone. When answering, try to consider the school's work as a whole, rather than individual cases affecting your feedback.

The survey will be open until Friday, 15th May 2026.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts—we truly appreciate it!

🧡 Go Orange for Prader-Willi Awareness Day 🧡

On Friday 15th May, we will be recognising Prader-Willi Awareness Day by inviting children and staff to take part in our “Go Orange” day.

As a school, we are proud to support all of our learners, including members of our community who live with Prader-Willi Syndrome. This makes the day particularly meaningful for us, and a valuable opportunity to promote kindness and awareness.

We invite children to come to school wearing something orange to show their support.

Thank you, as always, for helping us create a caring and inclusive school environment.

We have recently noticed an increase in the number of children bringing mobile phones into school. We would like to remind families that mobile phones should only be brought into school when absolutely necessary, for example if a child is walking home independently, going to a different house after school, or being collected by someone different from their usual arrangements.

As outlined in our Digital Safeguarding & E-Safety policy, phones can only be brought into school once a parent/carer completes our consent form. Any phone brought into school must be turned off and handed to the school office at the start of the day and collected at the end of the school day. However, due to the increasing number of phones being brought into school, it is becoming increasingly difficult for us to safely store them all securely throughout the day.

Only a small number of children in school should genuinely need to bring a mobile phone with them, so we kindly ask for your support in ensuring that phones are only brought into school when necessary.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and focused learning environment for all pupils.

May 15, 2026 'Go Orange for PWS' Prader Willi Syndrome Awareness Day

From the 18th of May, pupils will take part in an inspiring World of Work Week that will introduce them to a wide range of jobs and career pathways. Throughout the week, they will meet visitors from different professions, take part in hands‑on activities, and explore the skills needed in various workplaces. The sessions will spark curiosity, broaden aspirations, and help pupils understand how their learning links to real‑world opportunities. It will be an exciting and motivating week that encourages pupils to imagine their own future possibilities.

May 18, 2026 World of Work Week

Parents and carers will be invited to join us for an informal drop‑in session where they will have the chance to explore the importance of play in early childhood. NHS professionals will be on hand to share practical advice, answer questions, and demonstrate how play supports children’s learning, wellbeing, and development. Families will be able to take part in simple activities, discover new ideas for play at home, and learn how everyday moments can help build key skills. The session will be relaxed, friendly, and supportive, giving parents a valuable opportunity to connect with staff and gain confidence in using play to support their child’s growth.
